Mixed indigenous goats are hardy local cross bred goats, small to medium in size with variable coat colours and strong resistance to heat, disease, and long walking distances. They grow well on natural browse, crop residues, and pasture, and mature early with good kidding rates, often producing twins under good care. Their meat is lean with a rich traditional flavour, mildly gamey but not strong, and is especially appreciated for roasting, grilling, and stews because it remains tender and juicy when properly cooked.
